Clock Talk

1. How are the clock conversations going for you? Good idea or not, why?

2. Let us know what role you usually play during social activities, ie... shy, outgoing, silly, withdrawn, scared, intimidated.

  2. 1. The clock conversations are going well. It is a good idea because like Randi said it helps to learn everyone's name and find out if you have something in common with them.

    2. I really have no idea what role i usually am. This past activity i was a follower not a leader because i did not know how to get my point across. I try to be one to contribute an idea that will work.

  3. 1. The clock conversations are going well. Its a good thong because then it helps you to get more comfortable in knowing your classmates so it is not as awkward.

2.I am like Brady said not sure what I am during these conversations. At first I was alittle shy-ish but then I noticed it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. I was moe "outgoing" toward the end.

  4. 1. I think the clock conversations are going well. The conversations really help me learn other people's names, but it is difficult for me to talk about myself for a minute.
    2. I don't think I'm either shy or outgoing. I'm kind of in the middle and like Randi I kind of just go along with things and have fun.

  6. 1. The clock circle thingies are going pretty schnazzy. I'm running out of things to say though and I keep forgetting interesting things about myself because it's too on the spot.

    2. I take a bit of leadership role, but at the same time I take a shy role.

  7. 1. I think the clocks are going well. I like them because you not only get to know new people but also you get to know more about people you kind of know.
    2. My role is well I'm not sure. I'm really shy but outgoing at the same time and i'll usually be a leader if no one else will.

  8. 1. I think the clocks are a cool way to get to know each other and get over the awkwardness of talking about yourself to someone you don't know.

    2. I'm usually the outgoing type when it comes to social stuff. I guess you could also say I'm a leader but I'm also a really good team player.

  9. 1) i really like the clocks cause they really let you get to know about a person. plus, you learn things about them that you would probably not know about them if you were to have a really casual conversation.
2)When it comes to social stuff, i dont really know what i would be but with the clock stuff i think im outgoing but im not sure. i just go with it but i feel very comfortable with it.

  11. 1. I also think the clock conversations are going well, but sometimes it is tough to think of what to say. Also, some people are good at expressive listening, which makes it less awkward to talk for a minute, but other people listen with more of a blank expression, which makes it more uncomfortable.
    2. I usually take on the follower role. I have ideas about what we should do in activities, but there are always so many loud people trying to lead that I usually don't try to step up. However, if I am in a group of all folowers sometimes I can step up into a more vocal position.

  14. 1. The clocks are really fun. I think its a great idea because you can get to know new people and makes you really pay attention to what they have to say. Sometimes its awkward when you run out of things to say, but something interesting always comes up when you have to think on your feet.
    2. Usually I'm the outgoing type in social activities, but I also like to goof around and laugh with everyone. I guess I can be a leader or a follower depending on the situation, but sometimes its just easier to be a follower in a big class of kids because there are so many people trying to take the leader role.

  15. 1. I really like the clock conversations because I get to know a little about someone else if I don't know them, and if I do know them I have to think of something that they don't already know about me.
    2. I'm moderately outgoing, so I usually switch between the leadership role and the follower role when in group situations. I'm OK at being both a leader and a follower.

  17. The clock conversations are a fun to learn about everyone's personality and interests.
While I don't usually take the leadership goal in a group, I will voice my opinions and ideas so that I have some influence.

  20. The clock convos are a good idea because it gets everyone to know each other better. You get to talk to people that you maybe usually wouldn't.

Usually I am really shy unless it is a social outing with a group of my closest friends.

  23. I like the clock talks, but after awhile it gets kind of repetitive. Its good to get to know new people, but maaybee switch it up a bit? It has gotten the awkwardness to go away though.

Im usually a leader, I think, but I know when to let someone else take control as well. I think im pretty outgoing, and imm a very good listener. Everyones gotta little bit of follower & leader in them!

  24. I really like clock talks because you learn alot more about the person than just a name. Some of them lead into more talking later outside of class and it seems to be the power of the class is really starting to run it's course.

I am usually a leader, chatty and a goofball but seemed to have stepped back and become more of an observer and watching how people work with eachother..Ya' kinda freaked me out about being dropped Mr. H..

  25. The clock's aren't so bad. Its a good idea to get to know each other. But I find myself repeating what I say.

I'm a schemer. I like to plot and plan things out. Because of that, I'm often silent, or I may seem really intimidating. I'm very introverted, but I'm a pretty nice guy, despite what you may have heard about the "lab coat" guy. I lead when everyone else would only follow, or unless the current leader is incompetent.

  26. 1. I think the clock activity is good for everyone because it gets you out of your comfort zone and you get to talk to people you probably never would have otherwise.
    2. I take on different types of roles in different situations. I could be a leader or a follower comfortably so it just depends on how everyone else in reacting in the situation.

  27. I think the clock activity is good. It lets you get to know the people in your class. It mainly helped me remember and learn people's names.
It really just matters who I'm with and how I'm feeling. I can either be outgoing or extremely shy. In team building activities, I'm usually a follower.

  28. 1. I really like the clock idea. It's nice because even though there are a lot of people in our gym class, you actually get to meet most of them ad learn something about them.
    2. Sometimes I'm a leader and sometimes I'm a follower. I'm pretty comfortable being either. A lot of times, it's much easier to be a follower, especially in a setting with a lot if people, like our gym class.

  29. 1. I like the clocks they are a bit akward, but a lot of fun. It is a good idea to learn about and talk to other people.

    2. It is easy to be a follower, but it is not as much fun. I am between follower and outgoing.

  30. 1. I like the clock activity. It is a good way to learn people's names and it's also great to practice the listening part of a conversation.

    2. I am usually more shy especially in a big group or while I'm still getting to know people. Then I try to be more outgoing and voice my thoughts so I'm not completely following others, but I'm not a complete leader type either.

  31. I like the clock activity i have been getting to know a lot more people that i didnt know before, and i enjoy that. I also am normally a out going talkative person, but it is first period so i am normally quiet and tired, but the activitys we do normally wake me up!

  32. 1. I like the clock activity a lot. I like getting to know people and hear random facts about them. There are usually a few awkward silences where a person doesn't have anything to say, but they're not bad because it happens to all of us.

    2. I kind of just do whatever I need to be. I'll usually follow only beacause it's an easier route, but I suppose I'm okay with leading too.

Unless of course the want to go first then they will if there as open to share with me about them as i am then its just and makes me feel good that they want to tell me about their life.
