First of all, I am very impressed with the work done today. Let us know how the activity went today for you, what role did you play, where you blind folded, how was that? What interpersonal trait did you focus on and where you able to display it during the activity? Where you able to display it during the rest of your day?
The activity went very well for our group. I decided to do the supporting others trait. AS it is only 6th period i have not really been able to express this triat since 1st period. I will do my best to try this weekend.

this activity was very impressive and fun to do. the trait i picked was supporting others through actions and words and i think i was sucessful in it. I hope to transcend this trait into my everyday tasks.

I think my group did well on this task. I was blindfolded, and though not being able to see is somewhat unsettling, I didn't really have a problem with it (except it made my contacts water). The skill I chose to focus on is communication. I think I communicates to some extent with my group. I stated my opinions and listened to other peoples ideas. As for the rest of my day, I communicated effectively with others while in a psych discussion thing. Pooja nayak
ReplyDeleteI was really impressed with our group, but I think the only way that we were able to start so quickly was the fact that one of our group members had done the activity before. Anyway I was one of the blindfolded people, and that was SCARY! But the person that was walking beside me who would catch me if I fell kept talking to me so I felt more secure. I was trying to display the trait of communication, and not giving up if my idea wasn't picked, and I did that well I believe, but my idea of having the blindfolded people sit by a wall after they came over was accepted, so I didn't know how that one works. All in all the activity was fun and I'm glad that we're doing some team building things even though we're climbing.

Well the activity was very fun and im not really sure what role i played overall because i was just focusing on trying to get the group activity done while having fun while finishing before the bell as a group. As for my interpersonal trait i really cant say i was focusing on anything other than enjoying and working with classmates and i just took the happy mood i had produced during first period tried to contain that light, smile inducing mood for the rest of the day because i feel like yes its good to focus on communication and others but i feel that my mood will effect my every action so i tried focusing on something that would effect the big picture. i feel like i did okay on my standards keeping it displayed all day.
ReplyDeleteI really like the activity we did on Friday. I was blind folded during the activity, and even though we couldn't have someone walk us across the beam, I still felt safe. Our group talked all of the blindfolded people through what they needed to do, and because of it we were successful. The trait i chose was supporting others. I think I display it during the activity when I wasn't blindfolded, and I also displayed it this weekend at my track meet.

I tried to focus on communication during this activity and feel that i was somewhat successful.some of the ideas i contributed were critical to the group's success, but i feel that i could have presented those ideas in a nicer way. Outside of gym i failed to continue to practice this interpersonal trait.

Our group did an great job. We listened to everyone's ideas and encouraged eachother. I was not blindfolded but i was still nervous crossing because the beams were wiggley. But my group was supportive and I got across. I chose to work on keeping the education in the activity or what ever that one was called. I can't say I did that. Actually I think I worked on encouraging others. But overall I think this was a success.

I think our group did a great job. Before we even started we just took a couple minutes to brain storm our plan, and listen to everyone's ideas. I think that's where we displayed the best communication and appreciation for the people in the group.I was not blind folded while doing the activiry, but I was the supporter. While we were all going over the boards I noticed a little more tension and impatience from some people, but overall I think our group did a good job. I try my best to use all the things we talk about in gym in my other classes too, and I think its fun were learning them through experience.

Although I was not actually in class for the activity, I was told about it from one of our classmates. It seems like it was fun, but also challenging and required us to rely once again on our trust for other classmates. I'm sad I missed it! But from the sound of it everyone got to work on some intrapersonal trait and this weekend I did support others as I had to help a friend of mine deal with their own load of stress that they just couldn't deal with alone. Being able to support others in their time of need is essential. I think its important we strengthen these traits in class to then apply them to the rest of our lives.

i think our group did a very good job at this activity. the words on my card were communication and positivity, i think i desplayed these for the most part, i wasnt all grumpy and down and i wasnt completely silent, i gave some input on things, i did carry this throughout the day. Although i was not blindfolded, i helped some people get across and i got myself over, no one complained either so i think it all worked out very well.

My group did great with the activity. We got our ideas out quickly and got through it relatively easily. It's easy to see how our class trusts everyone because even the blindfolded people didn't have too much trouble going across the beam. My interpersonal trait on my card was communication. I think I did this pretty well when I spotted some of the people walking across and I made sure they knew I was there to catch them if they needed. - Maria Kuzma
ReplyDeleteThis activity was a very good activity with much teamwork need and built int it! A trusting actvity that you have to learn and know your classmates have you and you'll be okay. Although I was not blind folded I help the blind folded across and I can't imagine how hard it must have been for them and very scary too! My trate was good communication and positive cooperation. It showed through not just a little through me but through my classmtes and my group and our group as a whole, as a team!

Although I was not there to participate in the Fire Escape group activity I think that our class would've done well together. This is because of my previous knowledge of how we worked really well together in other team building activities in the past.
ReplyDeleteMatt Mondy
The fire escape activity was definitely a challenge, but our team worked well together and came up with a sufficient way to get across. My interpersonal trait was cooperative communication. I believe I succeeded in using this trait during this activity. Everyone worked well together and listened to eachothers ideas and also encouraged everyone to get across.

I thought the fire escape was really fun and our team worked really well together. we listened to each other's ideas and it really meshed well. the trait i worked on was feedback reaction. i think i did well because even if my idea was shot down i was a good team player and didn't get angry that we didn't use my idea. i was blind folded and it was really scary because obviously i couldn't see where i was going so i walked REALLY slow but i was confident in my team.

As everyone said, I think the activity went well and it was fun. My group worked well together. I don't think I had a specific leadership role or anything, but I did my part and participated in the team effort. The trait I wanted to focus on was accepting feedback. However, during this activity the group mostly agreed on anything and nothing I said was criticized, but I will try to work on this trait during future activities.
ReplyDeleteThough I wasn't there on Friday, through reading these posts I can see that the activity was very successful. It sounds like everyone was able to apply the different interpersonal traits, especially with trust and communication. I'm glad that we're still doing some team building activities so that we can be as a class while in the unit of climbing in smaller groups.
