Trust Fall

How did this week go for you with the different trust falls that we did? What was more challenging for you falling, catching, laying down under faller?  What did you learn about yourself and your classmates after doing this activity?

  1. I believe the trust falls went very well. It was easy for me to fall. The most challenging part of the trust falls was being a catcher when there was someone lying down. As you had to hold the person for a little longer. The longer you wear holding the "heavier" they felt. As a class we did very well. Those that were afraid seemed to get over their fears.

  2. I think the trust falls went very well as well. I know that at first I was terrified. I didn't think I'd fall. But my group gave me a pep talk and made me feel comfortable doing it and after I did it once, I wanted to do it again. Falling wasn't bad at all. The harder part was catching because I wasn't sure If I trusted myself. But I trusted my group so everything worked out perfectly.

  3. It was terrible!!! for me at least for every one else i think they liked the trust falls and it went well. The most challenging part for me was falling because its still the trust issue factor that im not comfortable with yet. I learned that even though things are really scary and they get to you and make you cry and shake which is kind of embarrassing but thats okay that you can...eventually over come your fears slowly and day by day. I also learned to somewhat trust my classmates, but only a little especially after they caught me after the 10 second trust fall.... still scary and i didn't like this activity for the most part.

  4. I think the trust falls went really well. I'm proud of everyone for at least going once and trying to do the different falls when we added in different aspects. I was very comfortable falling every time so I think the most challenging part was catching someone when we had another person lying on the ground. It was a little nerve wracking to think that if you caught them too low or dropped them another person might get hurt as well, but I trusted myself and my group to never let that happen and it didn't. I really felt like this activity made me trust the people in my group so much more. I have never felt more connected to people in our class until now because we had to depend on them so much. I learned that opening yourself up to others really does allow for some strong connections to be made. Especially in my group I feel like we did an amazing job of supporting others and encouraging them to fall & trust us when it may have been their biggest fear. I'm so proud of everyone being able to do it and I think it really has changed our relationships with our classmates for the better.

  5. The trust falls went great. We only almost dropped one person and even though i was scared to fall, i did it anyway. It wasn't as scary as i thought it would be. Free falling is my biggest fear and i am glad that i was able to do this anyway. I am so proud of everyone in our group. we did great guys!

  6. I think it went really well. For me, the most challenging part was catching, especially when there was someone lying down underneath because we had to actually hold the person high enough, and it felt heavier. Also because we almost dropped one person, it was a bit scary. But it was really good that that was the only incident; everything else worked perfectly. Though some were really scared to fall, we encouraged them and everyone eventually went. I learned that we're really trusting each other and that once you get up there and just do it, it's really not too bad. Everyone played an important part, and I think this activity has really helped us to grow!

  7. I believe that the trust falls this week went very well. Like a few people said I believe that a lot of people toward the end of the activity got over there fear of falling and not being caught. My group did really well too! We worked really hard as a group and were able to keep everyone safe and make it so they weren't afraid to go. AT first I didn't really want to fall but as I got more comfortable I did it and it was actually really fun and not as bad as I had thought it was going to be. Overall I think the most challenging one was the counting one. You really had to show your trust in your grouop here because you had to trust that they would come back to catch you after you fell. I think the activity overall was really fun though.

  8. I had no problem trusting my group to catch me from the get-go. However, even after a few falls, I still found myself folding a bit, unable to trust myself.

  9. The trust falls this week went very well for me. The first time I was a little nervous that I would be dropped, but after that falling was actually kind of fun. I ended up being much more nervous lying on the ground under the catchers than I was I fell. Luckily, our group worked really well together and I think everyone in the group had a decent amount of trust in each other. Overall, I think that this activity made me realize that I am able to trust many of the people in this class and that when we work together we can accomplish great things. This activity made me excited for the repelling we will be doing soon!

  11. I think the trust falls this week went very well! I'm so proud of everyone that was afraid to fall but did it anyways! At first I was a little nervous if my group would actually catch me, but once I did my first fall I thought it was super fun! Laying under someone was weird especially at the last second you think the faller will fall on you! the count down one was nerve wracking but such an adrenalin rush, because in the end we all know the guider would let us drop if no one was ready to catch! I feel our class has grown as a whole! I learned our whole class GOT guts! & we definately showed that! Olivia Foy

  12. I think the trust falls went well overall. Falling wasn't too difficult for me so I think the most challenging part was catching someone while someone else was lying underneath because we had to be sure to hold them high enough to keep the person underneath safe. I think this activity really helped connect our class and it was a big step for us!

  13. I missed two of the three trust fall days, so I only did the normal trust fall. It was scary, but I trusted my classmates to catch me. That was definitely easier than laying on the floor. When I had to lie down on the floor, the person that fell didn't get anywhere near me and I also knew that my classmates wouldn't let that person fall on me. For the day that I was there, I think it went well. Catching was the hardest for me because I'm weak, but my classmates helped make sure I didn't drop the person. I learned our class will keep each other safe.

  14. I think the trust falls went really well. Even when people were scared they still went, which I think is really good. The first fall was definitly the hardest, but after that it was actually a little fun. The scariest thing was the ten seconds fall where we had to fall no matter what and trust our group was ready. The trust falls really did a good job developing more trust in our classmates.

  15. I really enjoyed the trust falls. My favorite was the one where you turned around to see all the member of your group had run away and then you needed to fall without looking because this demonstrated how far we've come as a class/how much we are willing to trust one another.

  16. I think the trust falls went very well,I think everyone was a little scared to fall their first couple times, that's normal but after that it got a bunch easier, trusting people was not a problem I trust everyone to catch me and I trust myself for the most part catching them. The most challenging part of this activity was catching because depending on the person it could be heavier or lighter and sometimes people would bend and it would make it harder to catch them but we didn't drop anyone. Overall I liked the activity and am happy we did it.

  17. I think the trust falls went very well. I wasn't scared of falling because it wasn't that high and I knew my group would catch me. I guess laying under when someone else was falling made me a little nervous, but I trusted my group, and it all worked out. From this activity, I learned that I trust the people. I really enjoyed this activity.

  18. This activity was a challenge for me because you have to rely on people you barely know and that sounded really really scary. I also hate being lifted so this activity sounded like a nightmare to me. Once I fell for the first time I realized it wasn't so bad and it was relatively safe which I think most people realized as well, especially because people were trust falling left an right all around them, so it went pretty well.

  19. the falling part kinda scared my because of an incident once where my "trusted partner" dropped me on the ice during practice. but i definitely learned that not everyone will drop you :-) overall i love heights but i think the trusting part definitely got better.

  20. I really enjoyed the trust falls. I was a bit nervous but still excited for the first one. I think it was scarier being up on the block and looking down than actually falling. I think catching was harder for me than falling because I'm not very strong but when we shared the persons weight it wasn't so bad. Overall, I really liked the activity and I think it reduced some of the fear I had about repelling.

  21. for the week when we did the trust fall the first time it was very scary because i am deeply afraid of hights and i just want to let the people that i was trust falling with to let them now i trusted all of them i was just afraid of the hights and for the second time it was alittle less scary but i am still scared of hights but that is why i took this class to get over my fear

  22. I think the trust falls really helped ... it showed me that when someone's safety is concerned everyone is attentive and in full focus. i did not fall well but i did trust my group. if i was 90 feet in the air, i would trust them to bring me down safetly.
