Stepping over things?

I would like you to think of this comment of "stepping over things, incidents comments" and let us know what you will do to stop this from happening in our class?  Give us your thought what can be the impact if everyone in class stops "stepping over"?

  1. Instead of looking at a situation and then Just letting it go like in a situation our class has to figure something out together we cant just step over it anymore and just let certain people do the work. You cant just watch while every one else does the work. Thats stwppibg over something to avoid having to deal with it. We should all think and work together and face the problem we are faced with instead of atepping over it.

  2. I think that in class if we see certain people doing this or if we see the class "stepping over" things as a whole we should speak up. If something important is just being overlooked we will never really sincerely accomplish anything until we address it. Just because you may not find value in something doesn't mean you can just bypass it. Its important that as a class we take the time to really address everything going on around us. This will bring us together more as a class and really improve our abilities to handle different situations.

  3. I really do not know what to add as Alex and Audrey already explained it. It will take time for us to get out of the habit of stepping over things. It is something that as a class we need to work on some more. Reflecting back on this class so far i believe we have had an improvement. Everyone seems to be voicing their own opinion to help with the task at hand.

  4. In order to stop stepping over things I believe more of us still have to step up and help others out not just sit there and watch, it was hard with the rope activity but I mean for others in the future and we need to stop letting certain people do all of the work because that's not fair to those people, if we do this then our class will be able to function like a class and nothing will get stepped over.

  5. In our class, we need to speak up when we see people 'stepping over' things in order to prevent it from happening again. I think that in our class, when we ignore something so that we don't have to redo an activity or just stand by while others try to figure out how to complete an activity, that's when 'stepping over' something occurs. I think by not 'stepping over' things, our class will have better communication because we will need to speak up when something is being overlooked. Also, I think it will show us how participating actively will help bring our class together even more.

  6. I think that to stop stepping over things, we need to think about the impact of our words and actions. So instead of having our mouths go on autopilot, I think that we have to consider the impact of what we are going to say or do. Of we do this, we can be more sensitive to our class, and be able to communicative better. And then the whole class attitude will be better because we'll know that our classmates are thinking about us.

  7. I find this question awkwardly worded and confusing. People shouldn't be cutting corners, because then they miss out on learning. As a class we should admit to having messed up and restart activities when we fail them.

  8. I agree with why most of the people above me said. Like Brady said it is going to take us some time to get out of the habit of just stepping over things. I will start to pay attention to what is going on and not just step over it. If the people around me arent paying attention I will tell them that I think thy should pay attention to what is going on.

  9. I think some examples of stepping over things in class include: letting things go and not redoing activities or taking shortcuts, not taking into account how people feel in certain activities, not putting all our effort into tasks. I will make sure to put all my effort into activities and listen and consider other people's opinionsnd feelings. I think overall our class has become better at not stepping over things, and it's creating a better class environment. (More positivity, trust, etc.)

  10. If anyone in the class sees someone "stepping over" something they should talk to that person. Remind them of the issue and educated them on how it could have a terrible outcome if it keeps happening. I know I will put my effort into trying to talk people out of "stepping over" things. This will cause a bad atmosphere in the class if it happens enough and nobody wants that.

  11. For everyone to stop stepping over thing, I think that everyone has to start doing something. I know it is hard but we all need to participate and give are ideas. We also in to listen to each I know we get stuck in the moment but sometimes we dont listen to people that are to quiet to yell it at you.

  12. This is definitely a hard thing for me to accomplish. I like to overlook things I consider "unimportant" in my mind for the sake of progress. Its more like i'm not investing in it, rather than ignoring it completely. Regardless, I can definitely identify if we as a class overlook something however.

  13. I think stepping over things can be avoided if everyone can voice their opinion. A lot of the time the silent majority agrees on an issue but no one wants to step up. Other people will voice opposite opinions and that's makes thesilent majority more silent. I think it more people can represent that silent majority then stepping over things will occur less. People just have to realize that there's usually someone who feels the same way as they do. They are not the only ones.

  14. I think if we see someone stepping over things we should just talk to them and explain why it shouldn't happen again. If everyone were to continually step over things, then the atmosphere of the class will become bad.

  15. We shouldn't let people people step over even the little things because if we do that then we can make excuses for more and more bigger things. If things are getting stepped over, we need to talk about it and work on not doing that. I think it will go away naturally as we grow closer as a class and as a team.

  16. i think instead of constantly reminding someone to not step over i think it is best if we take it upon ourselves to correct this mistake. it can be hard because we are so used to doing it but if we put in the effort im confident that we can succeed. all we need to do is make an effort.

  17. To stop this from happening in our class, I will make a point to speak up if I see something we're stepping over. Sometimes people just don't realize, or they need a big reminder. We have to be there for each other and help make the class function well. Also though, we have to check ourselves and make sure we are realizing everything fully and not stepping over things. If everyone stops stepping over things, the impact will be great. We will be able to complete activities fully and learn all the lessons from each activity, and no one will get hurt. Also for things like saying the pledge (or at least standing up and being quiet), in not stepping over that we will not let the tradition die and we will be respectful and honoring of our country and others.

  18. just a thought, i feel that certain things can be stepped over like the little things in life but then there are things that shouldnt be stepped over like the incident at penn state. but as for our class, i think we all are understanding where that line is and if we go cross that line, im sure that a good few of us will at the least see it and speak up like i hope to maybe do in the future.

  19. I will do my best not to step over things because no one can trust you or your opinions if you step over things yourself. I plan to do the best that I can to show others what is important to me by setting my own standards and not stepping over things.

  20. We all definitly need to work on speaking up. I feel like a lot of people in our class have opinions but don't voice them. If we all speak up more I think it'll help up get away from this "stepping over" situatuon.

  21. i feel that the activity was very interesting and fun because we had to be able to trust in the other person to guide you to were they are leading you.
